University of Lethbridge: The Jewel in the Crown of the #UniversitiesHallofShame

Recently, three videos have been done about the University of Lethbridge’s attempts to attain “Jewel in the Crown”status in the #UniversitiesHallofShame. The first video was about the meltdown on February 4, 2026. The first video was on February 14, 2026, which discussed a chronology of the derangement.

The second video was on February 27, 2026, which discussed censuring the University of Lethbridge.

The third was on April 6, 2026. It was about the court case that is currently being decided about whether or not the University of Lethbridge violated the Charter rights of Jonah PIckle (a student at the University of Lethbridge) and me. The University of Lethbridge had cancelled my talk beause prized Indigenization stakeholders such as Leroy Wolf Collar – led by Vice-Provost Leroy Little Bear – had objected to it.

Now, there are more developments. This was because a “smudging ceremony” was held on February 13, 2026.

During this ceremony, Leroy Little Bear said that the students had done a “fantastic job in neutralizing [Frances Widdowson].

This led Widdowson to say that she would be going down to the University of Lethbridge for coffee with students.

As a result of this notice, Jessica Copley tried to organize a town hall to prevent Widdowson from coming onto campus.

This led Frances Widdowson to satirize the smudging by blowing marijuana smoke on her Street Epistemology mats.

Widdowson then liaised with students to go down at the end of April (to keep her promise). She also sent out an email to the President, Provost, Jessica Copley and Leroy Little Bear.

As a result of this, Provost Michelle Helstein set Widdowson an email with a trespass notice, stating that she was banned from campus but that Helstein would meet with her in Calgary.

Widdowson has the following to say about this: “Your totalitarian tactics will not work, University of Lethbridge. It was the University of Lethbridge, not me, which interfered with the proper functioning of the university. It has been cultivating opposition to academic values for years, by pandering to the likes of Leroy Wolf Collar. It then sent out an email at 11:00 a.m. telling students and faculty that a “controversial figure” was on campus. This led a number of students to hunt me down, disrupt an academic exercise that I had organized with University of Lethbridge professor emeritus Anthony Hall. This resulted in students wishing us harm, assaulting us, and stealing and damaging our property. Vice-Provost Leroy Little Bear then said that the students had done a “fantastic job in neutralizing [Frances Widdowson]”.
