This is a great essay. Beautiful, good and true which is exactly what philosophers like to hear (whether they are borderline psychopaths with normal IQs or average folks with slightly elevated IQs who become philosophers) with one small exception and small criticism.
The small criticism is:- Dead children, whether fake dead children (as is the case with the 215 bogus “remains” at Kamloops) or real dead children (as was the case with the 50 (?) of their memorial, prior to May 27, 2021) are nobody’s ANCESTORS. That should be obvious, even to a Marxist Professor who may or may not be/becoming some other label/pigeon-hole, given that children do not have children until they become teenagers or actual adults. And in order to be an ancestor you have to have descendents. And you cannot have descendents when you have neither active sperm cells nor mature ova being released from your ovaries PRIOR to puberty.
So any fraud on the government involving ancestors CANNOT be about missing children who do not have descendents and THEREFORE are nobody’s “ancestor”. They have actually found actual ancestors at Kamloops — just not in the apple orchard. They do construction and digging in other areas of Kamloops and have found actual ancestors given the fact that people have been actually dying at Kamloops for about 8000 years, after having children and then dying of old age rather than at the hands of “dangerous psychopath” High School or Grade School ACADEMICS of Roman Catholic clerical persuasion, disposition and/or deviancy(?)!
The Secwepemc folks are actually good at actual archeology — especially a UBC graduate named Bert of the Bonaparte band. So they do a lot of legitimate archeology. And legitimate archeology of actual ancestors is probably what the government was billed for, although one sentence from your essay could prove me wrong. That sentence was, quote:

I don’t expect first nations politicians or Canadian bureaucrats to be very linguistically accurate. But I hold wrongly and nefariously dismissed professors to be accurate about ancestors vs. children who could not be anyone’s “ancestor”.
