One of the main fomenters of the #Kamloops215Deception has been Ted Gottfriedson Jr., who worked for the Kamloops Indian Band in May 2022 (during the “Memorial” for “The 215″/”The Missing”) as the “Manager, Language & Culture”.

Gottfriedson is also a “cultural advisor” at Thompson Rivers University, and has been involved in public conversations with former president Brett Fairbairn and TRU Chancellor DeDe DeRose about “The 215″/”The Missing”. On September 29, 2023, Gottfriedson sat down with President Fairbairn.
In September 2024, Gottfriedson participated in an interview with Chancellor DeRose to talk about “truth” and the “children” who had been found.
Gottfriedson also talked about the importance of “respect” in reconciliation with President Fairbairn in September 2023.
In all of these interactions, Gottfriedson appears as a mild mannered person who would never say an angry word to anyone. But is this how Gottfriedson acts when he is not on display, when he is interacting with unconnected aboriginal people behind the scenes? Videos posted on Facebook seem to show a different side of Gottfriedson.
In this video (at time stamp 1:13), Gottfriedson states the following:

Gottfriedson then exits, and the conversation is taken over by Dessa Gottfriedson (Ted Gottfriedson’s sister, in the blue running shoes).
This incident provoked extensive commentary on Facebook from Intertribal BC, and then the Kamloops Indian Band issued the following statement:

Gottfriedson’s behaviour, and the response of the Kamloops Indian Band leadership, raises questions about to what extent those members who are not in power agree with what is occurring. A whistleblower interviewed by Drea Humphrey talks about his recollections of the school and how the band made a “mistake” in saying that the remains of children had been “confirmed”. His identity had to be kept hidden in order to speak openly about “The 215”.
The whistleblower also talks about the “repercussions” faced for speaking out, and how the leaders don’t care about the marginalized in the community.
