On March 30, 2025, Frances Widdowson travelled to Powell River to give a talk on the documentary. Powell River is implicated in the “grave error” at Kamloops because the false claim that the “remains of 215 children” had been found led Hegus John Hackett to send a letter to city councillors demanding that the town change its name.

During her time in Powell River, Widdowson shot footage with Simon Hergott for the documentary. Some of this footage was used to produce a trailer about the documentary.
Hergott and Widdowson, along with their assistant Kathy Drake, will be travelling to Kamloops, Abbotsford, Victoria and Simon Fraser University to investigate the circumstances surrounding the perpetuation of the false claim made by the Kamloops Indian Band.

Because Widdowson, Hergott, and Drake are completely independent, they will need donations from the public to complete this project. If you would like to help, donations can be made to the “Uncovering the Grave Error at Kamloops” Fundrazr site or by etransfer to widdowsonfrances@gmail.com.
