“Level 1” is the most significant document. It is the arbitration decision. The decision is available here.
“Level 2” are the final replies and submissions made by Mount Royal University (MRU) and Widdowson’s union, the Mount Royal Faculty Association (MRFA).
“Level 3” concerns the 303 exhibits (108 from MRU and 195 from the MRFA) and the testimony from 24 witnesses during arbitration. The most important exhibits are the five investigation reports. Widdowson wrote an analysis of the differences between the findings of these reports (especially with respect to the thresholds used for harassment findings). Arbitrator Jones did not undertake this analysis and just accepted the findings of the investigators (which were inconsistent and contradicted one another).
The “Level 3” investigation reports were only provided to Widdowson in redacted form when she was investigated. The 17 appendices from the Eichler1 Investigation of the “Gang of 17” were completely withheld.
“Level 4” concerns documents and recordings that were not entered as exhibits. Some of these documents are under an arbitration order, but the recordings made by Widdowson, such as her recording of the Geoff Hope investigation meeting (concerning the Watchman complaint), are not.
