On pages 11 and 12 of Steve Eichler’s investigation report (the entire redacted report can be accessed here), it is noted that a redacted person had “noted a directive from MRU Marketing & Communication in September 2020 putting restrictions on the use of MRU Twitter accounts but making no other comment on MRU personnel’s use of personal Twitter accounts” [emphasis in original]. In the arbitration hearing, it was discovered that the redacted person was Tanya Stogre. It was also revealed that Scharie Tavcer, a faculty member found to have harassed Widdowson, had seen Stogre writing about the directive and believed that, because MRU had not counselled Stogre about her personal Twitter account, MRU’s harassment policy did not apply to personal accounts.
