COUNTDOWN: 76 days until the Fifth Anniversary of the “Kamloops 215”

On March 12, 2026, Frances Widdowson began her “countdown” to the fifth anniversary of the Kamloops Indian Band’s announcement that the “remains of 215 children” had been “confirmed” at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.

This meant that 76 different issues would be discussed leading up to the fifth anniversary. The first issue was sparked by the fact that, on March 11, Blacklock’s Reporter published a story about how Senator Scott Tannas was bringing up the problem that no “solid proof” had been provided for Indian Residential Schools.

Although this statement was a refreshing change from most politicians saying nothing about the lack of evidence for the “unmarked graves”, Senator Tannas waited almost five years since his statement on June 1, 2021.

Many other senators also made similar statements.

Have any of these senators retracted the statements that they made on June 1, 2021?
